Jess Fung | Young Learners #1

Hello, I'm Jess I am currently covering for Bonita while she is on her maternity leave, in the Young Learns 1 room.

I have worked in admin, hospitality, retail and even a bit of tourism but never felt satisfied. When I started my journey in childcare in 2018 I knew that's where my passion was and never looked back.

Since I started working with children, everyday has been fun and unpredictable, I never know what will happen each day. I embrace all the spontaneous moments I have with the children and I continue to learn so much from each and everyone of them.

As much as I try to help children grow, I've realised they have also helped me grow as a person. I believe that each child is unique and I strive to support their individual needs and potential as much as I can in a nurturing environment.

My goal as an educator is to be a positive role model in the children's life and to empower children to make their own choices with confidence.

My parents immigrated from Hong Kong more than 30 years ago and we still continue all our traditional practices daily.

I live in a big family with my mum, dad, sister, brother, brother-in-law, niece and 2 dogs. In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with my dogs and taking them out for walks, managing the house plants (I'm getting figs, plums, lemon and boysenberries every year!!) and baking at a mediocracy level.
